How you test fire retardant of your textile fabric?

How we test fire retardant of our textile fabrics? We have several procedures to test our fabric. Firstly we will cut a small piece and burn it with a lighter. The result is judged by experience. If it is OK, then we will test it in our lab in machine to have more accurate test. Finally we will send fire retardant fabric to SGS test center, to have international fire retardant certificate B2, B1, NFPA 701.
