What is the most waterproof material for tents?

1. Generally speaking, polyester is thin and light, with high strength, good elasticity, wear resistance and corrosion resistance. It is suitable for mountain climbers and hikers.

Oxford is thicker but heavier, suitable for large tents for driving camps or small groups.

2. From the point of view of waterproofing coating, PVC (polyvinyl chloride) waterproofing is good, but it will be hard and brittle in winter, easy to crease or fracture; PU (polyurethane) coating can not only overcome the defects of PVC, but also has good waterproofing effect.

3. Silver-coated material, which can prevent ultraviolet rays, is mainly used for recreational beach tents, sunshade tents, advertising tents and so on.

4. Some ultra-light accounts are popular nowadays. Unlike the principle of PU coating on nylon and polyester fabrics in the past, it uses silicone coating technology, which is lighter in weight but more expensive.

Lining:

As for the internal nets, they usually have two functions: heat preservation, moisture permeability and mosquito prevention. For the preceding consideration, it usually uses the terephthalate, which has good air permeability and certain heat preservation ability. If only anti-mosquito is needed, then the screen is enough to deal with, when making the high-density screen better. If it is a four-season tent or an alpine tent, then undoubtedly all the internal accounts are made up of Daytaff to keep warm. If it is a summer tent or a single tent, for the sake of heat dissipation and air permeability, it is almost all yarn nets. For the usual three-season tent, yarn nets and Daytaff each account for a part of the compromise is a pragmatic choice.

Material:

The main functions of the tent bottom are waterproof, moisture-proof and dust-proof. The selection of the base material also determines the grade of the tent.

1. PE coating base material, which is cheap, is commonly used in low-end tents at present, but it is easy to crack after folding for many times.

2. PU coating base material, whether wear resistance or waterproof, is much higher than PE base material, and its cost performance is relatively high.
